Diesel generator

The basic structure of a diesel generator is composed of a diesel engine and a generator. The diesel engine is used as power to drive the generator to generate electricity.

The basic structure of diesel engine: it is composed of cylinder, piston, cylinder head, intake valve, exhaust valve, piston pin, connecting rod, crankshaft, bearing and flywheel and other components. The diesel engine of the diesel generator is generally a single-cylinder or multi-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine, and I will only talk about the basic working principle of the single-cylinder four-stroke diesel engine: the diesel engine starts by rotating the diesel engine crankshaft by manpower or other power, so that the piston is reciprocating up and down in the top closed cylinder.

Diesel generator is a kind of small power generation equipment, which refers to the power machinery that uses diesel as fuel and diesel engine as the prime mover to drive the generator to generate electricity. The whole unit is generally composed of diesel engine, generator, control box, fuel tank, starting and control battery, protection device, emergency cabinet and other components.

The generators can be electrically connected together by a synchronous process. Synchronization involves matching voltage, frequency, and phase before connecting the generator to the system. Failure to synchronize prior to connection may result in high short-circuit currents or wear and tear on the generator or its switchgear. The synchronization process can be done automatically by the automatic synchronization module or manually by the instructed operator. The automatic synchronizer will read the voltage, frequency and phase parameters from the generator and bus voltage, while adjusting the speed through the engine governor or ECM (Engine Control Module).
